Kaveh Shojania (he/him)
Kaveh Shojania, MD, is Vice Chair of Quality and Innovation in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and sees patients as a general internist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Shojania’s research focuses on identifying evidence-based patient safety interventions and effective strategies for translating evidence into practice. He has more than 160 publications indexed in Medline, including in leading journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and Lancet. From 2011-2020, Dr. Shojania was Editor-in-Chief (and then Co-Editor-in-Chief) of BMJ Quality and Safety, which rose during his tenure to have one of the highest impact factors not just for journals covering health care quality and safety, but also all of health services research, clinical informatics, medical education, and health policy. More recently, he has taken on a role as Associate Editor at JAMA Network Open.
